We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christelle Wilson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
This is a great question you can ask me because I consistently advocate for self-care and self love.
For self-care, I intentionally do things that put a genuine smile on my face and allow me to recharge mentally, emotionally, and physically. That includes getting massages, scheduling wax appointments, taking walks, working out, and sometimes simply lying down and doing absolutely nothing—giving myself permission to rest without guilt. I also love getting my hair done, but interestingly, I don’t consider doing my own hair self-care since I do it professionally for others every day. For me, self-care means allowing someone else to pamper me, so every now and then I schedule a professional hair appointment for myself.
These practices have a big impact on my effectiveness because they help me maintain a healthy mindset, reduce stress, and keep my creativity and energy levels high. When I feel mentally refreshed and physically well, I’m able to show up for others—whether clients, colleagues, or family—with more focus, patience, and positivity. Self-care isn’t just about feeling good in the moment; it’s about investing in my overall well-being so I can consistently perform at my best.
I’m Christelle Wilson, Hair Care Expert, a Master Stylist, Beauty Educator, and Owner of La Belle Vie Creations, a beauty brand built on the belief that hair is our crown and should be cared for with the same love and attention we give to our overall health. I specialize in natural hair care and work with all hair types, providing services that range from styling and coloring to extensions and custom treatments.
What excites me most about what I do is the transformation—not just in someone’s hair, but in how they carry themselves after they leave my chair. I love seeing that spark of confidence when clients look in the mirror and feel truly seen and beautiful. My work is more than styling—it’s about education, empowerment, and self-care. I teach my clients how to understand their hair, care for their scalp, and choose the right products so their results last long after their appointment.
One of my newest offerings is a personalized hair care regimen with consultation, designed for anyone who wants to improve their hair health—whether or not they’re an existing client. This service gives people an individualized plan based on their hair type, scalp needs, and lifestyle, so they can achieve healthy, thriving hair from the comfort of their own home.
La Belle Vie Creations is also growing in other exciting ways. I’ve developed a signature hair and scalp oil that has already transformed the hair health of so many men, women, and children. I’m currently exploring opportunities to scale this product so it can reach more people, while also working on my first book, which focuses on hair health education. This year, I’m also committed to expanding our services to include more self-care experiences—like massages and wellness treatments—because beauty is just one part of a person’s overall well-being.
At its heart, my brand is about inclusivity, quality, and empowerment. I want every person who interacts with La Belle Vie Creations to feel cared for, confident, and celebrated.
Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are leadership, creativity, and work ethic.
I’ve always had a natural inclination to lead and to carve my own path rather than follow trends. While that can be challenging as a business owner—especially in an industry where trends are constantly shifting—it’s allowed me to stand out by adding my own unique flair.
Creativity has been essential to my success. In my profession, it’s not just about technical skill—it’s about envisioning possibilities, problem-solving in the moment, and making each client feel like their style is uniquely theirs. I get to use my creativity every single day, and it’s one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.
Finally, having a strong work ethic has been a cornerstone of my growth. I’m not afraid of putting in the time, energy, and effort needed to move my business forward. That persistence has opened doors for me and helped me overcome challenges that could have easily stopped me.
My advice for those early in their journey: never limit yourself. If you have a vision or an idea, don’t wait for perfect timing or for others to validate it—just start. Stay persistent, stay true to yourself, and be willing to put in the work even when it’s not easy. That’s how you build something that lasts.
Yes, I am absolutely looking for people to partner and collaborate with—especially those who believe in my vision for expanding La Belle Vie Creations. I have so many ideas for growth, from scaling my signature hair and scalp oil to launching new self-care services and educational platforms. To bring these ideas to life, I need a team of people who aren’t afraid to take a leap of faith and work toward something bigger than themselves.
The vision I have for my business can’t be accomplished by me alone. I’m looking for collaborators, investors, and creative partners who are passionate about beauty, wellness, and making a real impact in people’s lives. If you share that passion and want to be part of something meaningful, I’d love to connect.
